WordPress officially was ‘born’ back in 2003. It was forked from the software ‘b2’ by Matt Mullenweg and Mike Little.
18 years later, WordPress is the biggest CMS platform on the internet – powering millions of websites and no doubt enabling billions of dollars in sales all from some simple software that can be setup in 30 minutes!

WordPress is powering over 40% of all websites on the internet.
This isn’t the result of a huge marketing campaign or some large corporate creating visibility for it.
It is because of several different things – but the main one being, is it allows anyone at all to get started with a blog, website, online store or whatever they want – for free and easily.
